City of Newberg

The vision of the City of Newberg is to cultivate a healthy, safe environment where residents and visitors can work, play and grow in a friendly, dynamic and diverse community, valuing partnerships and opportunity.

Newberg is the gateway to Oregon wine country, the home of George Fox University, Roger’s Landing access to the Willamette River and the Hoover-Minthorn House.  The region is near to, but not part of the Portland metropolitan area. Here agriculture, urban comforts, a rich history and an exciting future blend into a unique community and a great place to grow.

The City employees 140 career individuals across 7 robust departments including an award winning Library, Planning and Community Development, Water and Wastewater plants, a full service Public Works Department, Engineering Department, Building, Code and Field experts plus an accredited Police and Dispatch Center. The City shares infrastructure and jurisdictions with Oregon DOT, PGE, Yamhill County Public Works and the Yamhill Watershed among other partnerships.
