Signal Hound, Inc, located in Battle Ground, WA, is seeking a talented and highly experienced Electronic Component Level Repair Technician to repair Spectrum Analyzer and Signal Generator circuit boards that fail production line testing.
Do not apply unless:
- You can currently solder surface mount devices onto a PCB.
- You can currently troubleshoot to the component level on a PCB.
Duties and Responsibilities Include:
- PCB surface mount (SMT) component level troubleshooting and repair.
- Repair, maintain, and calibrate RF test and measurement equipment.
- Follow electrostatic discharge (ESD), Moisture Sensitivity Level (MSL), and safety standards and procedures.
- Track each repair service performed by maintaining accurate and detailed records.
- Coordinate repair activities with production supervisor and customers.
- Provide technical guidance to lower level technicians.
- Detailed descriptions of above experience must be included in resume.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Must be a U.S Citizen with current driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Self-motivated with the ability to establish priorities and exercise independent judgment.
- Experience to include inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing SMT PCB assemblies at the component level, including removal and replacement of BGA’s up to 11 x 11 ball package sizes.
- Familiarity with RF swept measurements.
- Ability to read block diagrams and schematics.
- Ability to safely use and maintain soldering and rework equipment.
- Experience using spectrum analyzers, signal generators, RF power meters, oscilloscopes and digital multi-meters (DMMs).
- Competency with use of Microsoft Office software (i.e. Word, Excel, and Access).
Preferred Skills:
- Experience using and calibrating RF test and measurement equipment.
- 5+ years’ experience SMT component level troubleshooting and repair.
- Formal training in calibration procedures and soldering standards or equivalent experience.
Physical/Mental Demands:
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. routinely.
- Must be able to use magnification equipment for an extended period.
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods.
- Must be able to work well with others.
- Must be willing to work overtime to meet occasional spikes in production or deadlines
