We are busy, we are driven, and we are committed to standards of excellence in our own work and in supporting our clients as they commit to standards for excellence in patient safety and quality health care.   The Legal Department is small but influential and our Senior Counsel is looking for a legal professional with operations experience who not only loves legal research, but who also has the project management skills to take the Department to the next level and become a strategic internal service department. The position is multi-faceted and has responsibility for improving both legal and compliance-related departmental and organizational efficiencies and for participating in legal research that drives business development. It requires an individual who can manage multiple projects, who can be flexible as strategies evolve, who is a master communicator and implementer and who wants to work with every department across a growing organization. Most importantly, it requires someone who is willing to roll up their sleeves and participate in the day-to-day duties that keep the department and the organization moving forward.   The Legal Analyst & Operations Manager employs project management skills to implement, operationalize, and contribute to department and organization-wide projects including contract review, enterprise risk management, internal audit and legislative/regulatory tracking, research, outreach, and reporting. This role is critical to maintaining order and efficiency within the department in furtherance of organizational strategy and to contribute to improving overall organizational efficiencies related to legal, compliance, and risk.  Reporting to the Senior Counsel, the Legal Analyst & Operations Manager provides legal support through legal research, legal document drafting, negotiations, contributing to departmental administrative needs, and related activities   Conduct effective project management of key department and organization-wide projects relating to compliance, policy implementation, and government affairs education and outreach initiatives (e.g., enterprise risk management and internal audit program; collaborate with cross-functional teams to reach implementation goals.) Under direction of Senior Counsel, conduct legal research and gather, prepare, and summarize relevant materials to support legal recommendations; assist with drafting, review, and negotiation of legal documents associated with AAAHC’s business. Conduct state/federal program research and legislative/regulatory tracking across all 50 states, identify contacts, and arrange discussions with state and federal agencies to introduce AAAHC programs, summarize meeting information, oversee necessary follow-up, and provide research for analysis of market opportunities/create reports to gain insight on state and federal program developments. Maintain and update AAAHC accreditation recognition chart; incorporate updates at least monthly. Support Senior Counsel with governance-related corporate filings and other governance activities including assistance with drafting governance documents and preparing reports for board and other governance unit meetings. Assist with order and efficient workflow within the department by implementing best practices for workflow, filing, and issue tracking, and developing and maintaining policies and operating procedures including client matter intake, department overview materials, and business guideline/procedure documents. Coordinate quarterly department performance reports (KPIs, accomplishments, progress on key initiatives). Maintain department document repositories including the contracts database for the legal department to include entering contract terms, setting alerts, managing contract workflow, and updating contract review and approval policies and procedures. Collaborate with Purchasing Analyst for contract maintenance and tracking. Assist with developing, distributing, and tracking Department communications.
