Almost 100 years ago, a foursome at San Gabriel Country Club had this far-fetched notion of wanting to create their own private country club.  They paid $50,000 for 142 acres of land and started Hillcrest Country Club, which is still owned by its members today. During the first years of the Club’s existence, it quickly became recognized as one of the premier country clubs in the nation.  Prominent members of the community flocked to join.  Among those applying for membership were some of the most famous and highly visible personalities in the motion picture business. Groucho Marx famously said, “I would never be a member of a Club which would have me as one of its members…” just before he and the other Marx brothers joined Hillcrest Country Club. One of the many ways the Club has distinguished itself from the other premier Clubs in this nation, has been by its Members’ unparalleled and unwavering commitment to a host of worthy charitable organizations. Today, our Club consists of a remodeled Clubhouse, a remodeled 18-hole golf course set to open in the summer of 2019 with a 5-hole short course and world class practice facilities, 10 tennis courts, 5 restaurants, 3,500 square feet of banquet meeting space, a regulation size basketball court, fitness center and 25-meter swimming pool. We have over 240 Team Members from around the world serving a grateful membership base who provide exceptional support and opportunities for them.
