We are hiring for a  2nd Shift Quality Technican  for our Tri-Seal Division within Tekni-Plex. In this role, the quality technician will ensure the performance of all prescribed, routine and non-routine sampling, testing and reporting relative to the physical, visual, chemical, and mechanical characteristics of packaging related raw materials, in-process materials, and/or finished products that exist in various stages of production. Duties and Responsibilities: Test raw materials; in-process materials and finished materials. Record test data in SQC system. Communicate test results to appropriate people. Participate in internal as well as external teams. Audit complete orders. Provide support to Engineers by performing lab tests on in process or finished goods material reporting and interpretation of test results with recommendations. Provide training for new lab technologists. Evaluate employee progress. Follow documented WI's and Procedures related to Lab Technologist. Interface with external suppliers and customers through meetings, laboratory tours and site visits. Calibrate lab test equipment on a timely basis. Calibration results are recorded and maintained. Update lab skill proficiency. Support goals of department. Complete 5S/Housekeeping duties. The Company maintains the right to revise and/or add duties in response to business requirements. We are hiring for a  3rd Shift Production Operator (Sunday - Thursday night; 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. plus overtime)  for our Natvar Division within Tekni-Plex. In this role you will be responsible for the collection, packaging and inspection of various tubing sizes, shapes and profiles used in the manufacture of medical devices. This position encompasses equipment startup, setup, troubleshooting and shutdown. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Collect and package product in compliance with the collection standards and / or established quality requirements and reject non-conforming product. Perform setup, changeover and initial line clearance for production line. Inspect product for defects and deviations from specifications using a variety of precision measuring devices and/ or against limit samples. Troubleshoot minor equipment malfunctions and recommend resolution. Maintain complete and accurate production records. Ability to use the following measuring devices: rulers, dial caliper, step gauges. Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC). Good understanding of polymer resins and drying requirements; prepare resins for processing as required. Complete product traceability, logs, production reports, data entry, etc. as required to document extrusion related activities. All other duties as assigned.   What skills do you bring to the role? High school diploma or equivalent and 1-3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferred or a combination of education and experience. Basic English communication skills. Ability to understand safety rules and regulations, work orders, operating procedures and training materials.   Ability to legibly complete reports. Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, bend, crouch, reach, kneel, use hands & fingers, talk and hear. In this role, the Press Operator uses the rotogravure printing technique to print quality product in a safe manner, in the minimum amount of time and with the least amount of scrap dollars. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Productivity: 1- Must be able to determine amount of raw materials required to complete order. 2- Correctly set-up the machine (materials conditions cylinders and web path). 3- Diagnose and trouble shoot machine problems. 4- Confirm wind direction of each substrate roll. 5- Hang rolls on unwind in the correct orientation. 6- Remove rolls from rewind and place on skid or in-process rack.. 7- Set web guides and web alignment. 9- Start and stop the machine. 10-Monitor machine and anticipate process problems. 11-Set machine parameters based on MOP. 12-Set-up clean and tear-down station pan and cylinders. 13-Remove and prepare doctor blade assemblies. 14-Change impression and nip rolls. 15- Knowledgeable of Register system ADMINISTRATIVE: 1- Print production order and MOP 2- Call out the appropriate amount of liquids and substrate. 3-Compare cylinders to Production Order. 4- Fill out job shift report. 6- Correctly complete Process Roll Repair requests. 7-Post production and maintain log sheet. 8-Confirm copy standard and wind direction. 9-Cross-check raw material commodity codes (liquids resins and substrates) 10-Complete pre-startup checklist. 11-Complete in-process tickets. 12-Fill out lab tickets. Communication: 1- Communicate status of work area to on-coming shift. 2-Communicate production issues and concerns to supervision. 3-Communicate with crew to maintain machine efficiency. 4-Effectively communicate with scheduling maintenance and engineering . 5-Know location of other crew members at all times. Quality: 1-Inspect web for print and other defects. 2-Inspect raw materials for defects. 3-Proper flagging of material running. 4-Cross check substrate materials and wind direction. 5-Interpret SQC data and make adjustments to run to target. 6-Provide QA with the proper start-up samples. 7-Monitor and check color. 8-Insure that customer samples are pulled as required. 9-Made process changes to correct non-conformances. GMP/Housekeeping 1- Insure that all unused raw materials are returned at the completion of each job. 2- Insure that trash cans are emptied as needed or before the end of each shift. 3- Insure that rag and solvent waste are disposed of properly. 4- Insure that packing supplies are properly stacked labeled and banded. 5- Complete all required paperwork according to GMP standards. 6- Follow proper line clearance procedures. 7. Insure that the floor has been swept prior to the end of the shift. Safety 1-Wear all required PPE. 2-Work in a safe manner. 3-Identify and communicate safety concerns to management . In this role, the purpose of the Extruder Poly Area Hander is to support the operation of the extruder by maintaining the correct substrate raw materials at the machine and mounting them correctly. Providing an uninterrupted supply of liquids to the machine and maintaining viscosity. Provide assistance to machine operator and assistant as required and during changeovers. Ability to provide extruders with an uninterrupted supply of silo resin, box resin and posses the ability to prepare resin blends. Locate and transport in-process materials to the extruder. Remove scrap from poly area.  Duties and Responsibilities Productivity 1- Must be able to determine amount of raw materials required to complete order. 2- Call out materials as needed. 3- Operate core cutter and cut cores. 4- Check wind direction of each substrate roll. 5- Hang rolls on unwind in the correct orientation. 6- Remove rolls from rewind and place on skid or in-process rack. 7- Prepare raw material splices and make transfers. 8- Pump liquids into and out of stations and check viscosity as required or at least every 30 minutes. 9- Insure that all drums and pumps clean properly flushed and grounded before use. 10- Properly transport waste materials to the collection area and dispose of properly. 11- Make-up and set trim knives. 12- Start and stop the machine. 13- Back extruders off line and move droll pans into position. 14-Monitor droll pans and replace before overfilling. 15- Return unused substrates and liquids. 16-Set-up clean and tear-down station pan and cylinders. 17-Prepare doctor blade assemblies. 18-Transport impression rolls to the shop for refacing or cut-back. 19-Assist crew with changing impression rolls changing poly and webbing machine. 20-Make-up doctor blades. 21-Install and remove poly droll stick. 22-Monitor poly bins to insure correct polly is in correct hopper. 23-Prepare all resin blends. 24-Locate and transport in-process materials to machine. 25-Change forklift batteries and charge. 26-Properly dispose of extruder area scrap. 27-Properly dispose of packing materials. 28-Maintain clean work area. ADMINISTRATIVE: 1- Print production order and MOP. 2- Call out the appropriate amount of liquids and substrate. 3-Check raw material commodity code with order. 4-Correctly fill out "Film ID" ticket. 5-Accurately post raw material usage. 6- Oder proper amounts of poly to feed extruders while minimizing waste. 7-Complete resin traceability forms. 8-Correctly complete process roll repair request. 9-Ability to use Iren to determine needed poly and post materials. Communication 1- Communicate status of work area to on-coming shift. 2-Communicate production issues and concerns to supervision. 3-Communicate with operator and assistant to maintain machine efficiency. Quality: 1-Inspect web for defects. 2-Inspect raw materials for defects. 3-Proper flagging of material running. 4-Proper labeling of substrate materials. GMP/Housekeeping 1- Return all unused materials at the completion of each job. 2- Empty trash cans as needed or before the end of each shift. 3- Empty rag and solvent waste containers as needed or before the end of each shift. 4- Properly stack label and band foil packing supplies. 5- Sweep the work area as needed and before the end of each shift. 6- Promptly clean any liquid spills and mop the floor. 7-Clean poly blender after each use. 8-Empty foil bins as required. 9-Remove all poly logs from the production floor as needed and before the end of assigned shift. 10-Sweep poly beads from the work area as needed and before the end of each shift. 11-Maintain a clean and orderly poly storage area on dock 1. This role will be a key business partner within our Plant Management team. What will you do? The Human Resources Manager is a member of the senior management team supporting the designated location. In general, this position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: recruitment, on-boarding and retention, employee relations, training, performance management, change management, policy implementation, safety, and employment law compliance. Three key initial focus areas for someone stepping into this role: Safety : Help champion safety initiatives in order to meet / exceed established safety targets. (This role will have a significant portion of safety leadership.) Financial : Prepare and interpret metrics that enable informed decision-making and value creation. This position encompasses equipment startup, setup, troubleshooting and shutdown. Inspect product for defects and deviations from specifications using a variety of precision measuring devices and/ or against limit samples. Ability to use the following measuring devices: rulers, dial caliper, step gauges. Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC). Good understanding of polymer resins and drying requirements; prepare resins for processing as required.
