Coughlan Companies is the holding company for Capstone and Jordan Sands. The Coughlan family started a stone quarrying business in 1885 in Mankato, Minnesota. Capstone was established in 1990 and has emerged as a leader in the children’s publishing industry. Jordan Sands, which mines and processes silica sand, was formed in 2011.
