Job Scope Account Representative within the Accounts Receivable department, providing assistance to stores and customers in analyzing commercial customer credit accounts for payment status, credit limits, authorization for purchases, reconciliation of payment posting issues, etc. Posts customer payments to account, makes outbound collection calls on delinquent accounts, researches payment posting issues and follows up with customers/stores as needed to reconcile customer account issues. Job Scope The Fixed Asset Staff Accountant supports both the accounting and tax departments to ensure the data integrity of the sub-ledger and general ledger accounts related to fixed assets. This position is responsible for managing the Company's capital expenditures against approved capital appropriations, as well as determining the federal tax categorization and sales & use taxability. Responsible for the authorization, set-up, tracking, recording, reconciling, and disposing of fixed assets (both tangible and intangible) for Leslie's Poolmart Inc. Including the recording of appropriate depreciation through the system based on a useful life as assigned by the staff accountant in accordance with relevant accounting and tax guidelines. Prepare various monthly management reports related to fixed assets. The Fixed Asset Staff Accountant must also have the ability to review transactions for accuracy in compliance with company policies and procedures and provide reporting and review transactions or requests that fall outside the boundaries of those processes and policies. The accountant should also provide meaningful feedback and recommendations on those findings. The individual must also have the ability to work with individuals across many different departments and areas in the company. Day-to-Day Manage the administration of document flow relating to requests to spend. Maintain the Fixed Assets and associated depreciation schedules; insure proper recording of new purchases, transfers and disposals. Review invoices to determine proper capitalization and coding. Calculate and record the depreciation expense and reconcile the balance in the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the general ledger. Monitor balances in construction in process (CIP) and ensure spending is charged correctly to projects. Proactively meet with stakeholders to ensure projects are capitalized timely and any required adjustments are booked correctly. Track and provide reporting around company expenditures for fixed assets in comparison to the capital budget and management authorizations, annual reporting around impairment as well as other ad hoc requests. Provide analysis around related P&L accounts and reconcile accounts in conjunction with the period close. Support the annual capital expense budgeting process Prepare and provide schedules and reporting to tax accountants for tax book fixed asset activity annually or as requested as well as support audits as needed. Conduct periodic physical inventory counts of fixed assets and provide recommendations for disposals. Communication: This position requires strong verbal and written communication skills.
