Catawba, SC Paper Mill:
Established in 1959, Resolute Forest Products’ Catawba (South Carolina) operation, located on the Catawba River, is one of the largest coated mechanical paper mills in the world. Paper manufactured at Catawba is used in some of the most widely circulated magazine, catalog and retail publications. The mill also produces market pulp that is sold to other paper manufacturers worldwide.

The Catawba pulp and paper mill is committed to corporate social responsibility and has undertaken multiple sustainability initiatives: ▶ Since 2000, direct greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions have been reduced by 42%, and indirect emissions, such as those from purchased power, are down 42%. ▶ 73% of the energy used at the mill comes from renewable sources, including hydroelectric facilities and an onsite cogeneration facility. ▶ In 2015, won Resolute’s Board of Directors Safety Awards for achieving 1 million work hours without a recordable injury as well as several other significant milestones in 2015 and 2016.
