Monahan Law Group, LLC is a small law firm (11 attorneys) located in downtown Chicago. The firm is small and provides a friendly almost family environment. Due to firm growth, we have a part-time position available for a bookkeeper/accounts payable clerk. This position requires absolute confidentiality and reports directly to the firm's office manager, as well as the firm's owner. We offer a flexible, but consistent, part-time work schedule. Approximately 20 to 25 hours per week. Responsibilities include, but not limited to the following.
- Completing payments and control expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices;
- Reconcile, verifies and compares system reports and various accounts to balances;
- Data entry of charges and expenses to cost centers, as well as analyzing invoices and expense reports;
- Recording entries, checks and deposits within QuickBooks and various accounting/billing systems;
- Pay vendors, verifying federal id numbers, scheduling and preparing checks;
- Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions;
- Maintains historical accounting records by scanning and filing documents;
- Disburses petty cash by recording entry; verifying documentation and reconciliation;
- Financial database entry;
- Running various Excel, QuickBooks and other financial system reports as requested;
- While we offer an hourly rate, the pay based on experience.
Three years of QuickBooks and Excel experience required, as well as three years of office experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services setting.
