This employment opportunity is with the Office of Information Service – Shared Services, under the Oregon Health Authority (OHA). There is one full-time, permanent position located in Salem (3990 Fairview Industrial Drive SE). This position is classified and represented by a union.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The purpose of the IT Acquisition Specialist is to assist in the acquisition and tracking of IT assets for DHS/OHA. This role will ensure that acquisitions adhere to state, agency and legal procurement policies, rules, procedures and fiscal accountability. This position will also be involved in the entire lifecycle of IT assets from acquisition to disposal for all IT assets managed for DHS/OHA.
The IT Acquisition Specialist responds to daily and frequent customer requests; manages and provides regular communication with customers, manager and vendors. The incumbent will work closely with customer to discuss business needs and requirements of IT hardware and software. This position will work closely with our vendors to identify and assist in the acquisition of those products that will best meet the needs of our customers within our current IT standards.
The IT Acquisition Specialist will be responsible for the preparation of acquisition documentation. This position will also respond to customer requests for assistance and for regular communications with customers, managers and vendors regarding the tracking and managing of IT assets.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Three years administrative support experience that included data analysis, collection and tabulation; purchasing through requisition and purchase order; inventory control and supply; or assisting with contract or agreement processing.
College-level coursework in business management or office technology may substitute on the basis of 45-quarter units per year.
DESIRED ATTRIBUTES:

• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Experience using Microsoft Access.
• Experience handling confidential information.
• Experience with inputting, updating, correcting and retrieving data.
• Experience preparing documentation, technical reports or instruction manuals.
• Ability to answer routine inquiries regarding contracting and purchasing policies and procedures, and to receive and when possible resolve customer complaints.
• Ability to handle a large number of customer request on a daily basis and to appropriately respond and prioritize responsibilities and requests.
• Comfortable working independently and making decisions based on knowledge of projects and applicable staff.
• Experience in promoting a culturally competent and diverse work environment.
