Oakton family needs a part-time combination business administrative assistant to the Founder of a home-based business and after school help for a 10-year-old Monday through Friday from 4:15 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. during the school year and transportation to and from day camps and some weekday coverage as well during the summer. The selected candidate will have an office within the home for administrative work while our child is mostly independently doing homework, etc.
Business tasks include:
- Editing slides and graphics in PowerPoint presentations
- Excel data entry
- Updating Outlook calendar items/keeping up with email
- Creating designs/content for brochures, flyers etc.
- Updating website content
- Social media marketing
Household tasks include:
- Launder towels and bedding on Wednesdays
- Some errand runs (picking up prescriptions, dry cleaning, etc.)
Childcare tasks include:
- Supervising homework
- Supervising our child to complete his daily tasks
- Assist us in managing various school project and assignment due dates
Skills/qualifications required include:
- Adept in using all Office products, especially Excel and PowerPoint
- Verbal and written communication
- Administrative writing
- Organization
- Dependability
- Attention to detail
Experience required includes:
- Office/Administrative Experience
- College degree
Other requirements:
- Successful background and DMV check
- Reliable automobile with proof of insurance
- Ideal candidate has flexibility to come in earlier at times as mutually agreed upon, able to fill in from time-to-time to take Mason to a standing appointment in Alexandria every week, and possibly assist if Mason is out of school sick
