Overview The Dental Product Specialist has the primary responsibility to maintain dental product knowledge to benefit the department and our customers. The Dental Product Specialist creates product comparisons and recommendations for existing customers as well as substitution recommendations for bids to potential clients. Overview The Patterson Companies Payroll Lead directs, leads, and assists in the preparation of wage and salary payroll, including functions such as computing and making extensions and deductions, maintenance of individual payroll records, payroll distribution and processing, tax record maintenance including tax notices, preparation of W-2 forms and Social Security reports; and compilation of periodic and special reports on payroll matters. Responsibilities Acts as a Lead to the Payroll Coordinators. Lead, direct and assist in the following payroll functions: Operates as the subject matter expert and escalation point for Payroll Coordinators to resolve issues and continuously looks for improvements in operational processes. Collaborates with Payroll Manager to design and implement new initiatives. Documentation of processes and procedures in accordance with SOX guidelines Monitor and respond to incoming e-mails through the payroll e-mail inbox or route e-mails to the correct Payroll Coordinator responsible for that company’s payroll processing Analyzing and recording all payroll journals into the general ledger systems Auditing all payroll entries entered and processed by the Payroll Coordinators Monitor and review progress and accuracy of work and provide technical guidance as needed. Assists in ADP relations relative to ongoing system maintenance, patches, custom data requests, and resolution of issues. Works closely with the HRIS manager and HR staff to ensure the Enterprise system is in compliance with new laws and tax regulations. Creates and distributes various Payroll reports to finance and other departments. Complete and submit all Department of Labor surveys, including government statistical reports. Submit, monitor, and review responses to and from ADP regarding all tax notices and their resolution. Reviewing and updating tax setups for employees at the state and local levels to ensure accuracy Monitors ADP eTime system to ensure seamless and correct data flow and troubleshoots issues. Work with payroll coordinators to develop a standard weekly auditing process of employee time cards and assist with any troubleshooting issues within the EeTime System. Overall accountability for state and local tax deductions. Work closely with HR department to ensure accurate data entry and audit data on a regular basis. Support and assist Payroll Coordinators in back-up role for vacation and/or high-volume workloads. Work with Payroll Manager to setup calendar for year-end payroll events Assist and validate year-end transactions and processes are complete Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Certified Payroll Professional Certification preferred Associate degree in business related field preferred 4+ years of payroll experience, including experience in a multi-state environment 2+ years of payroll tax experience, including local taxes and tax reciprocity rules and regulations required Previous experience with ADP and ADP Reporting is preferred Previous supervisory or leadership experience required Basic accounting skills, Microsoft Office programs Lawson general ledger knowledge helpful Strong customer service skills Strong organizational and time management skills, attention to detail and follow through to resolve any outstanding issues. Strong written and verbal communication skills; appropriately communicates with all levels of customers.
