Summary

To protect Collector’s Universe personnel, property, and profits through detection, deterrence and denial of unauthorized individuals, all while maintaining a secure environment and preserving the integrity of the company’s facilities and reputation.  Our Security vigilance protects from exposure, damage to reputation and theft.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe work environment for all personnel at Collectors Universe
• Visually monitor activities via closed circuit monitors during working hours
• Open/Secure the facility, make cursory checks and set appropriate alarms at the beginning and end of shifts
• Monitor outside activity for suspicious persons and vehicles
• Make reports to local law enforcement (as needed)
• Maintain authorized access through CCTV surveillance and manual door controls
• Transport and pickup of valuables from the Post Office, FedEx and other sensitive locations, including out of state deliveries using rental cars / trucks
• Maintain logs of delivered materials
• Travel throughout the United States for various trade shows
• Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities

At trade shows and other events it will be the responsibility of Security to monitor other department personnel and make requests regarding safety and Security issues. It may also be  necessary to monitor outside workers and keep track of their activities.

Follow policies and procedures as outlined by management.  Approach others in a tactful manner; treat others with consideration regardless of their status or position.   Monitor and if needed manage any difficult or emotional customer situations. Respond to needs of the staff to ensure there are no breeches of Security.

Qualifications

High School Graduate
Valid Driver’s license
United States citizen

Experience
Security
Military (preferred)
P.O.S.T. Certified (preferred)

Computer skills
Basic knowledge of computers, Word, Excel

Physical demands
Must be able to physically handle, move, carry, lift, pull, and push boxes 65-70 lbs or more to load, transport and unload.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is also required to stand, walk, sit, crouch, bend, talk and hear.

Work Environment
Must be able to work with others in a busy and controlled environment
