Finishing Paint Department Supervisor 

Ecoshel, Inc. is a premier manufacturer of Western Red Cedar Shingle Strips. Due to our tremendous growth, we are looking to hire a Supervisor in our Paint Department located in Portland, Maine. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and supervisory skills, experience with spray guns as well as other painting processes is essential. We are looking for someone who has experience and expertise in successfully managing a high-volume paint - finishing department with focus on quality and meeting production needs. Must be an independent, self-starter with a sense of urgency, proven results orientation and strong initiative. Must be able to coordinate with paint supplier on a daily basis with production needs. Responsibilities:

• Oversee and coordinate all sanding and staining operations, productivity and capacity planning in our paint department.
• Responsible for supervision of manufacturing teams; including workforce management, coaching and employee development.
• Enforce safety procedures and policies and ensure a safe work environment free of hazards.
• Drive continuous improvement in manufacturing operations and work to minimize waste and quality errors.
• Ensure inspection of materials, products, and equipment to detect defects and quality issues.
• Set and monitor product standards, examining shingle strips as they are being processed looking for defects to ensure finished products are of prescribed quality.
• Manage resources for maximum efficiency, capacity and productivity to meet customer requirements and on-time delivery.
• Build working relationships at all organizational levels and participate in the execution and administration of department and company goals and priorities.
• Analyze work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports, in order to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs and ensure products are manufactured on-time.
• Update necessary spreadsheets that are required on a daily basis. 
• Hire, train, mentor, discipline and hold employees accountable.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Minimum 3 years work experience in a manufacturing environment.

Minimum 2 years working in a lead or supervisory capacity.
