Every Dog Has Its Day Care

every dog has its daycare
Position: Dog Handler

Job description:
Dog Handler- part-time 20hrs per week. $12.55hr starting - paid training.
Our facility is located in West Oakland. We care for an average of 140 dogs each day (all sizes and breeds) and we employ approximately 60 people. We are a large facility and our attention to the specific needs of each dog in our care sets us apart from other daycares. We strive to be the best and take our reputation very seriously.

This is not a glamorous job. We work outside in all weather conditions. We are actively engaged, walking, running, climbing and even going down sliding boards with our dogs. A dog in our care is our client’s family member, and each dog’s safety is our number one priority. We know our dogs by name, yes all 140 of them, and during our work shifts we manage their safety, wellness, activity, and behavior using positive reinforcement, body language, energy, and our commanding presence. Our dogs love us coming to work every day, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

We train each employee in all aspects of the care we provide, but there are certain attributes that we look for when hiring a new employee:

  •  Punctual and reliable. We expect you to be on time every time.
Our business hours are 6:30am-7:30pm. We are located at 1315 16th St, Oakland, CA  94107 (How will you get to work?)

  • Energetic assertive people excel. Our handlers are active during their entire work shift. We are natural pack leaders and energetic team players. If you prefer a passive desk job this is not the job for you.

  • A genuine love for dogs is imperative. You should be that person on the street who wants to meet every dog you see.

We are looking for active team players who love every dog.
