~~The University of Denver, founded in 1864, is the oldest and largest independent university in the Rocky Mountain Region. It is the mission of the University of Denver to promote learning by engaging with students in advancing scholarly inquiry, cultivating critical and creative thought and generating knowledge. The University is committed to building and sustaining a culturally diverse faculty, staff, and student body to enrich the educational experiences of our students and faculty.  It is our goal to establish and maintain active partnerships with local and global communities who will contribute to a sustainable common good.

More than 11,500 students from every corner of the country and 83 nations are enrolled in its undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs. The University of Denver strives to be a great private university dedicated to the public good—a center of excellence, innovation, integrity, engagement, learning, scholarship, and inclusiveness.  As DU embraces a new strategic plan, DU IMPACT 2025, the University has renewed its commitment and intensified its efforts to creating a more inclusive and diverse educational environment; to developing cultural literacy and awareness among its students, staff, and faculty; and to deepening its ties to surrounding neighborhoods as well as the diverse communities of greater Denver.
