The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is a federal government agency tasked with the responsibility of protecting human health and the environment. EPA's purpose is to ensure that all Americans are protected from significant risks to human health and the environment where they live, learn and work and that all parts of society -- communities, individuals, businesses, and state, local and tribal governments --have access to accurate information sufficient to effectively participate in managing human health and environmental risks.
The Office of Environmental Information (OEI) focuses its efforts are to provide the Agency the technology tools, services and solutions necessary to fulfill its mission and to advance the creation, management and use of information as a strategic resource. Within OEI, the Office of Technology Operations is responsible to provides, managing and protecting the information technology that is used by all EPA employees, and stakeholders, in fulfillment of the Agency’s missions.
