**Busy Restaurant HIRING** Experienced LINE Cooks Mexican Food 

Ordonez Mexican Restaurant and Cantina is seeking an experienced, self-motivated, team player with exceptional knowledge in cooking TRADITIONAL Mexican Food, and the ability to handle high volume orders from the time your shift starts until the time it ends. You must work well under pressure and of course, know how to cook Mexican Food.

POSITION OPEN: LINE COOK
TASKS THAT YOU WILL BE PERFORMING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO: 
• Grill, cook, and fry foods 
• Clean food preparation equipment, work areas, and cooking counters 
• Take orders from servers via written guest checks, and cook foods requiring short preparation times, according to customer requirements
• Grill and garnish different types of meats, such as steaks and chicken
• Restock kitchen supplies, rotate food, and stamp the time and date on food in coolers

TOOLS YOU WILL USE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO: 
• Commercial use cutlery -- Boning knives; Chefs' knives; Paring knives; Serrated blade knives
• Commercial use food slicers -- Meat slicers; Slicing machines
• Commercial use food warmers -- Steam tables
• Commercial use graters -- Fruit zesters; Graters
• Commercial use peelers -- Vegetable peelers
• Commercial use ranges -- Electric ovens; Electric stoves; Gas ovens; Gas stoves
• Commercial use steamers -- Steam kettles; Steamers
• Domestic strainers or colanders -- Colanders; Strainers

SKILLS YOU WILL DEMONSTRATE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO: 
• Coordination -- Adjusting actions in relation to others' actions
• Monitoring -- Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action
• Active Listening -- Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times 
Ability to multi-task a MUST 
Elegant, Confident, and Experienced 
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS: 

- High School or equivalent education required 
- Bilingual (Spanish and English preferred) w/ excellent communication skills 
- Punctuality, regular and reliable attendance is required. 
- Food Handlers Certificate required. 
- Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays. 
This position offers a competitive hourly wage, and your hourly rate is based on your experience and skill. This position is a fast paced one, and requires many hours on your feet.
