Position Purpose
The Enterprise Network Engineer is responsible for administration and monitoring of the C3 network infrastructure (LAN and WAN). The Network Engineer performs a wide variety of evaluations, maintenance, installation, and training tasks to ensure the C3 network performance meets company and user satisfaction. The Network Engineer works closely with, and provides support to C3 Corporate Technology team members and their customers. This position is also responsible in the design and build of enterprise components for deployment, based upon client or management specifications.
Job Responsibilities
- Network Engineer supports, manages, and ensures operating capability of both the LAN and WAN networks, both wireless and wired, are operational in a 24x7x365 uptime environment
- Ensuring hardware, software, and network upgrades, installs, re-installs, changes and relocations are efficiently completed as required.
- Design, installation and administration of C3 Enterprise Cisco routing and switching infrastructure
- Installation and administration of C3 firewall and network security infrastructure
- Troubleshooting to identify network system issues and correct them as well as other operational difficulties.
- Investigating, recommending and installing enhancements and operating procedures that regulate network availability.
- Planning and implementing network security, including setting up firewalls, managing host security, applying cryptography to network applications, and regulating file permissions.
- Acting as the Situation Manager, to repair and reform unplanned events that adversely affect the network or computing environment.
Qualifications
- BA/BS in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
- CCNA / CCIE certification preferred
- 5+ years’ experience with network administration with primary focus on Cisco technology
- Solid understanding of network fundamentals
- Extensive routing, switching and firewall experience on Cisco hardware platforms

MARS, WAAS, ACS, CiscoWorks - Experience with routing protocols: OSPF, BGP, EIGRP
- Experience configuring MPLS based WAN
- Experience with network monitoring and management tools for troubleshooting
- Ability to read and analyze packet captures
- Ability to troubleshoot logically and effectively in the field
- Experience working with Telco providers and data circuits
- Knowledge of Windows and Linux server operating
- Outstanding customer service skills, as well as excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Demonstrated ability to be a team player and a willingness to lend a hand with any project
- Ability to manage multiple projects, activities and tasks simultaneously
- Ability to travel a plus
- Ability to work off-hours as required
- Must have the personal communication and presentation skills that will represent the company professionally to outside agencies, financial institutions, business partners, employees and customers.
