What is the position where you can add value?
We are looking for a strong Human Resources Manager to join our team within our Dolco Packaging Division of Tekni-Plex. This role supports a plant with a total workforce in excess of 150 people, with continued plans for product expansion and growth. This role will be a key business partner.

The Human Resources Manager is a member of the senior management team supporting the designated location. In general, this position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: recruitment and on-boarding, engagement and retention, training, performance management, change management, policy administration, safety, and employment law compliance. Three key focus areas for someone stepping into this role:
Safety : Help champion safety initiatives in order to meet / exceed established safety targets. (This role will have a significant role in safety leadership.)
Financial : Prepare and interpret metrics that enable informed decision-making and value creation. This would include analysis and plans related to turnover, compensation, onboarding, morale, etc.
Human Capital : Spearhead recruitment and retention strategies that enable the business to meet established growth plans, and promote a highly engaged workforce through appropriate communications, supervisory skills coaching, and people development strategies.
What skills, abilities, characteristics and education you bring to the role:
Turnaround/Change Management experience, to include assessing the need for change, creating awareness for change, developing a specific plan for change, helping to build desire and knowledge to implement effective change, and measuring effectiveness to determine next steps.
A track record of successfully connecting business objectives to effective HR programs through disciplined planning, prioritization and execution.
Demonstrated ability to gather, analyze and appropriately utilize data in planning and decision-making. (High proficiency with MS Excel.)
Demonstrated problem solving ability – i.e., problem identification and definition, quantifying the problem, determining/verifying and implementing a solution to the problem, and developing a control plan to maintain the solution and ensure (measure) effectiveness.
Demonstrated ability to influence, coupled with excellent critical thinking, written and verbal communication skills.
Requires strong relationship skills at all levels of the organization (hourly associates through plant and divisional leadership).
Strong planning, prioritization, and project management skills.
The ability to maintain confidentiality of information and cultivate trust and credibility. Must have sound judgment and be an advocate for continuous improvement.
Strong work ethic – this role will require self-motivation and drive to jump in, learn the business, build relationships, and help generate value-added solutions.
Humble and teachable, receptive to new ideas and best practices.
Minimum education/work experience requirements: BS/BA with ~5-10 years of progressive Human Resources experience. An MBA (or equivalent) is preferred. A degree in economics or math would be considered a huge bonus, but is not required.
A concentrated focus in staffing, employee relations and/or training and development is preferred.
