Carolina Inspection Services, Inc. (CIS) is a FAMILY- AND VETERAN-OWNED COMPANY that provides Inspection and Consulting Services for the IPPC's ISPM-15 wood packaging materials program (WPM). CIS is also accredited by the American Lumber Standard Committee (ALSC) to provide heat treatment (HT) inspection services for both lumber and Wood Packaging Materials (WPM).
In order to meet their customers' growing need for International Standards Compliance, CIS' heat treatment program is devised in accordance with International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) and ALSC guidelines. The Objective of CIS is to assist WPM and Lumber producers in their transition to IPPC Guidelines for International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM 15).
CIS is proud to have formed long-time partnerships with their clients. Being a family owned and operated business, the most likely first contact of new clients is the owner himself, Dan Eaton - a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Forestry from The University of Tennessee. Dan has backgrounds in national pine grading, sawmill and planer operations, lumber treatments, forestry consulting and forestry management. This just shows the level of customer service of CIS. Your first consult is with the topmost staff offering full knowledge and care about your wood packaging inspection needs.
CIS offers hands-on approach by dedicating well trained, highly qualified and talented staff to client companies.
Centered on meeting client demands while maintaining lumber and WPM requirements, CIS can adjust their HT inspection services (but still in observance of IPPC and ALSC regulations) for all international and domestic rules governing shipping containers, pallets, crates and boxes needs.
