Responsibilities* Design and perform experiments to understand the molecular basis of cardiomyopathy induced by diet and aging, including: imaging and electrophysiology, animal experimentation, metabolomics and transcriptomics studies, and organization and curation of tissue samples; conduct statistical analysis of data and interpret/discuss research with the principal investigator, lab members, and collaborators; formulate research methods and suggest options for improving quality, as well as identifying potential problems and recommending solutions; create, maintain, and inventory small-molecule libraries used by the group and academic collaborators; write animal protocols and act as the contact point to communicate with the institutional animal care committee; oversee laboratory operations, including general management, ordering of lab supplies, organization and maintenance of animal colonies, maintenance of inventory, lab space and protocols...
