The Traffic Engineering (TE) division of Public Works is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Engineering Technician II to join our team and support a variety of traffic engineering-related tasks, both in the office and in the field. This position will assist with traffic data collection, road safety evaluations, traffic control plan reviews, and other technical analyses, provide recommendations for safety improvements to the Traffic Engineer, and address and respond to citizen requests and concerns related to traffic operations. The ideal candidate will be technically qualified, enjoy problem-solving, and possess excellent communication and customer service skills. Typical tasks may include:
Assists with analysis of traffic data and crash reports to support safety evaluations and operational studies.
Collects traffic data, including turning movement counts, speed studies, classification counts, pedestrian/bicycle counts, and travel time studies....
