The CICU specializes in treatment of acute and chronic heart failure, cardiogenic shock, post cardiac arrest, STEMI and NSTEMI, noninvasive valve repair (TAVR), and vascular patients. CICU nurses are educated to successfully manage and care for patients with advanced hemodynamic monitoring, pulmonary artery catheters, temporary and permanent pacemakers, ventricular assist devices, intra-aortic balloon pumps, continuous dialysis, and undergoing hypothermic care.
