Peabody Essex Museum We are seeking a highly motivated and outgoing temporary Walking Tour Guide Supervisor that will manage the Walking Tour Guides as well as lead groups of 5-16 people around downtown Salem while providing informative and entertaining information about the city and locations on the tour. PEM's Walking Tours will provide tour attendees with accurate and engaging information about the history and architecture of Salem, and the Historic Properties associated with the Peabody Essex Museum. The Walking Tour Supervisor and Guides work in all weather and are responsible for the safety of their tour groups. They are able to engage a variety of different groups with stories, and answer questions about the topic they are presenting on, and the area in general. Peabody Essex Museum The Peabody Essex Museum is seeking highly motivated and outgoing temporary, Walking Tour Guides to lead informative and entertaining tours around Salem. PEM's Walking Tours will provide tour attendees with accurate and engaging information about the history and architecture of Salem, and the Historic Properties associated with the Peabody Essex Museum. The Walking Tour Guide is a seasonal, part-time position responsible for leading up to three, 60-120+ minute tours per day. The position requires approximately 1-3 miles of walking per tour. All Walking Tour Guides will attend training which will last around 4 weeks. Prior to conducting tours to the public, each walking tour guide will be required to present a memorized script for each tour. In addition to conducting tours, guides will handle admission transactions, retail sales, customer check-ins, provide daily reporting and ensure the safety of their groups.
