Job Description

We are a growing commercial concrete, earthwork, and demolition contractor serving the Austin Texas market. Our team operates a large fleet of heavy equipment and maintains an organized laydown yard to support multiple active job sites.

We are seeking a motivated, mechanically inclined professional—preferably with military experience—to join our team in a hands-on, high-responsibility role supporting fleet readiness, yard operations, and jobsite logistics.

The Fleet & Yard Operations Technician is responsible for maintaining heavy equipment, supporting field crews through material delivery, and managing organization and efficiency within our equipment yard. This role is critical to keeping projects running on schedule and equipment operating safely and reliably.

This is a hands-on position requiring mechanical aptitude, self-direction, and strong organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Maintenance & Mechanical Support

  • Perform routine maintenance on heavy equipment (oil changes, filters, greasing, fluid checks)

  • Replace tracks, hydraulic hoses, starters, batteries, and other components

  • Troubleshoot basic mechanical and hydraulic issues

  • Coordinate larger repairs with external mechanics when needed

  • Maintain service logs and maintenance records

Yard & Fleet Management

  • Organize and maintain equipment laydown yard

  • Track equipment locations and ensure readiness

  • Maintain tools, attachments, and small equipment

  • Monitor inventory of fuel, parts, and consumables

Logistics & Field Support

  • Deliver materials, tools, and equipment to job sites

  • Assist with equipment mobilization and demobilization

  • Support field crews with operational needs

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • Mechanical experience (military motor pool, heavy equipment, diesel, automotive, etc. strongly preferred)

  • Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus)

  • Ability to operate heavy equipment (or willingness to learn)

  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently without constant supervision
