Intern Engineer Substation Operations
Work Location: Butte, MT
Pay range: $20.00 - $21.00/hour (first year interns $20.00/hour, returning interns $21.00/hour)
Employment Status: Temporary (May - August full-time, 40 hours per week)
(September - December part-time, up to 20 hours per week)

About this position:The Intern will work closely with engineers and others with collecting and documenting substation and relay equipment ratings and settings to support Facility Ratings. Will analyze existing data to assist with recommendations for equipment upgrades/replacements. Would also be responsible for learning to utilize Substation applications such as Cascade, Powerbase and SEL AcSELerator. There will also be opportunities to get exposure to a variety of work functions within the substation department.

- Reading substation drawings, evaluating System One-Lines
- Analyzing existing relay settings/data and analyzing the Facilities to recommend equipment upgrades/replacements
- Work will include learning to utilize Substation applications such as Cascade, Powerbase and SEL AcSELerator
- Will participate in organizational work meetings and work with peer department

- Proficient in Microsoft Office products, particularly Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Prefer Electrical Engineering Student (Will consider Mechanical Engineering for the right student)
- Students must have successfully completed Sophomore level or higher by start date
- Must be in good academic standing
- Must Provide GPA in Resume upon application
- Get Into Energy - Energy Industry Fundamental 2.0 certification is a plus (click the link to certify at no cost)
