Job Summary The student will participate in the "Elucidating the Impact of Early Endosomal pH on SARS-CoV-2 Transport in Cardiomyocytes" project, funded by an American Heart Association (AHA) research grant. This project aims to understand how NHE9-mediated pH regulation affects endosomal transport and viral infection in heart cells. The student will use advanced biophysical techniques, such as optical trapping to study molecular forces, motility assays to examine endosomal transport dynamics along microtubules, and TIRF imaging for detailed visualization of endosome and motor protein interactions. The student will also conduct data analysis to interpret the experimental results. A background in these biophysical techniques is required for the project.
