The Perinatal Sonographer is responsible for performing low and high-risk obstetrics (OB) ultrasound examinations in accordance with established departmental guidelines and protocols. The Perinatal Sonographer should have special interest and expertise in prenatal diagnosis and OB ultrasound with the ability to recognize normal and pathological conditions and apply additional modalities as indicated (i.e. Doppler, 3D). The Perinatal Sonographer may be responsible for limited gynecologic ultrasounds.
Essential Functions:
Performs diagnostic obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound procedures, including: first trimester fetal anatomic assessment (including nuchal translucency and nasal bone assessment), evaluation of pregnant uterus for abnormalities, evaluation of the ovaries and adnexa, detailed fetal anatomic survey and detailed evaluation of the placenta and umbilical cord, fetal echocardiography (preferred), ultrasound guidance of amniocentesis...
