EEO/AA EMPLOYER/VETS/DISABLED/RACE/ETHNICITY/GENDER/AGE Culture Vision: Our results driven team strives to deliver extraordinary outcomes through our passionate commitment to each other, collaboration, courage and innovation Main Functions -The Assistant Shipping Supervisor is responsible for processing and preparing products for shipping to customers and suppliers, including selection of the appropriated packaging selection and the accuracy of the Finished Goods inventory. - Reviewing department documents and materials to ensure completeness, accuracy, and conformance to requirements. - Ensuring the Finished Goods and Shipping area is clean, organized and product is properly stored in a timely manner. - Updating supervisor on department performance while highlighting and discussing recommended changes for improvement. - Notifying the Supervisor of any Safety or Personnel issues This position requires access to information controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), the successful candidate must be a "U.S. person" as defined in the ITAR and EAR (which generally means (i) be a citizen or national of the United States; or (ii) be a lawful permanent resident of the United States; or (iii) have been admitted to the United States as a refugee, or have been granted asylum, as specified under applicable law. Typical Duties - Review of orders prior to shipping for any special instructions related to labeling of product, certificates of product or special packaging requirements - Preparing products for shipment, including but not limited to, selection of containers or boxes to ensure all items are package to prevent damage in transit. - Communicate with the appropriate department in the event of any original instructions being changed, and make the necessary adjustments - Process scheduled shipments using the appropriate Shipping System or software - Work hand in hand with the department supervisor to plan and coordinate resource needs to meet schedule deadlines, as well as project completion timelines - Distribute work as needed to meet schedule and deadlines - Identifies and communicates, in advance, when orders may be in jeopardy of not shipping on time. - May work without direct Supervisor oversight while still maintaining production standards. - Manages workforce accountability and escalates issues to the Supervisor. - Requests materials, tools, and/or other stock items and distributes items to production workers as needed to meet shipping demands. - Ensures all shipping information is updated within M2M daily and in a timely manner. - Manages the nonconforming materials when identified both physically and systemically. - Driving product to/picking up product from suppliers or customers - May be required to train others as directed by the Supervisor Required Skills - Prior shipping supervisory experience, both domestic and international - Good verbal and written communication skills - Computer skills with working knowledge of shipping programs including UPS, Fed-X and MRP/ERP software - Demonstrated Knowledge of logistics methods, regulations and processes - Strong attention to detail and organizational skills - Ability to work well in a fast-paced, time sensitive, high volume shipping department - Proven leadership skills with a Team Player attitude - Strong time management and Clerical Skills - With clarification or assistance, this individual must interpret written materials which are technical in nature and work related - Ability to compare, compute, compile and analyze documentation and requirements - Ability to coordinate activites within the shipping department and over multiple departments as required Preferred Skills Made 2 Manage is a plus Demonstrated Structured Problem solving tool skills Microsoft office - Microsoft excel, Power Point, Microsoft Word Lean and or Six Sigma experience/skills Education Requirements High School or equivalent. Additional related training and education preferred Experience Requirements 3 years of shipping/logistics experience in a manufacturing environment Previous supervision or lead experience Valid driver's license and insurance Acceptable driving record Physical Requirements Must be able to lift 50 pounds Able to spend the day standing, bending, walking, lifting, etc. Requires using hands to handle tools or controls This position must pass post offer drug test, Pre-work Screen, and background check.
