Job Title: TAHEF Production Supervisor Security Clearance Required: Active Secret* Work Week: Monday to Friday Hours: 7am – 3:30pm Flexible Hours: Yes, Flexible Work Location: Newport, RI, 02840 Position Overview: The Towed Array Handling Equipment Facility (TAHEF) is the depot-level repair activity for US Navy surface ship and submarine towed array handling systems. It is a Government Owned-Contractor Operated (GOCO) facility located at the Naval Station Newport, Important Information: *Ability to obtain and maintain an Active Secret Clearance is required; candidates currently possessing an Active Secret Clearance are preferred. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will be the Production Supervisor for the TAHEF depot. As such they will: Coordinate the evaluation, assembly, restoration, overhaul, paint, test and preparation for certification Towed Array Handling Systems (TAHS), Towed Array Handling Equipment (TAHE) and components to be installed on operational and new construction ships and submarines. Act as liaison with Engineering, Purchasing, Production Control and other departments to achieve optimum utilization of facilities in meeting production schedules. Review quantities, schedules and parts lists provided to the material control organization to ensure timely and complete ordering as well as receipt and issuance of production material requirements. Advise management of the status of work in progress, material availability and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed. Coordinate interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic and act as liaison with customers, contractors and suppliers. Review and recommend changes and resolve various production issues. Track all hazardous materials used in the production, overhaul, repair, and maintenance of TAHS and TAHE. Maintain a Navy and OSHA compliant Environmental Safety and Health (ES&H) program. Create and maintain a technician training and certification program POSITION REQUIREMENTS: United States Citizenship. Ability to obtain and maintain an Active Secret Clearance; candidates currently possessing an Active Secret Clearance are preferred. Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, OR equivalent experience/combined education with At least two (2) years of relevant experience. Have experience with Navy Consolidated Hazardous Material Reutilization and Inventory Management Program (CHRIMP) requirements and processes related to the storage and usage of HAZMAT. Able to generate reports and presentations using Microsoft Office Suite. Desired Skills: Thorough knowledge of surface and submarine Towed Array Handling Systems and Towed Array Handling Equipment. Experience with the layout and operation of TAHEF capital equipment used for TAHS and TAHE repair/refurbishment and testing. Familiar with the use of JobBOSS and MasterControl Document Control Software.
