Requisition ID : 2363 Employment Type : Full Time Job Category : Sales Operations Work Location : Davidson, NC (CSC) State or Province : North Carolina (US-NC) Potential Work Location : United States : North Carolina : Davidson BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY: The position is responsible for supporting MSC’s Sales Team Request for Proposal (RFP) and Request for Information (RFI) responses to secure new and retain existing business. RFI/Proposal Writer Level 2 will focus on responding to complex customer proposals. This includes customizing existing content, assisting in the development of new content as well as editing standard responses to ensure alignment with overall business strategy. The position will also be asked to contribute to projects that support team or department initiatives as necessary including, but not limited to activities that support the efficiency and productivity and growth of the overall team. DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintains and displays thorough and complete knowledge of the Company’s services, solutions and processes. Write, edit, organize, produce and package high quality responses to complex RFI/RFP in compliance with customer detailed requirements, timelines, and delivery method expectations. Independently researches, prepares, and coordinates company responses to high priority RFPs/RFIs including complex and/or strategic information. Work with the sales team to ensure the appropriate response is used to accurately meet the objectives of an RFI/Proposal Participates and supports sales team with bid submission process, bid evaluation and post-bid requests such as proposal revisions, conference calls, and clarifications. Execute high-quality proposals and presentations while meeting tight, customer driven timelines. Assists in the development and maintains library of information for standard/complex corporate information that can be used to complete RFI/RFP and leveraged by different cross functional teams. Collaborate with the cross functional subject matter experts; including and not limited to; Sales, Legal, Category Management, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance to develop proposal sections that clearly articulate MSC's solution and strategy and win themes Ability to combine proposal writing expertise with business acumen to provide vital, detailed information about how MSC’s solution can deliver business value to its customers. Promotes adherence to corporate principles, policies, standards, processes, procedures, branding and guidelines to write and produce compelling proposal content to create best-in-class proposals based on customer need and MSC goals. Works collaboratively with Proposal Management for feedback on proposal design standards to ensure we remain up to date with industry standards. Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to fulfill MSC’s mission. Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Business Administration or equivalent experience required 5+ years of professional experience in supporting proposal and business development activities Demonstrated track record of successfully writing and managing proposals in response to RFP’s. SKILLS: Superior writing and editing skills with specific attention to detail. High level of independent decision making. Strong communication skills – verbal and written. Excellent customer service skills and familiarity with working in a fast paced, deadline driven environment. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent time management skills, project management and organizational skills, interpersonal skills Strong Microsoft Office Skills – Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
