Concrete finishers are responsible for the final aesthetic appearance of finished concrete components. Finishers are usually part of a concrete crew and are responsible for aiding or completing various stages of the concrete process such as forming, pouring, rodding, and treating or curing concrete surfaces and must furnish small hand tools to complete those basic functions. Some projects may also include concrete patching, repair, or restoration. Concrete finishers report directly to the concrete foreman or superintendent depending on the size of the job. Prefer 3 years experience in setting forms (carpenter) and placement of concrete for flatwork (i.e., sidewalks, driveways, curb & gutter, etc.  Experience in structural concrete a plus (box culverts, irrigation structures, etc.) Must be able to pass a 7-year background check and pre-hire drug testing.

M. D. Merrett, Inc. is a general contractor located in Phoenix, AZ. We are currently seeking concrete finishers to join our construction our team. Diversified company specializing in civil infrastructure and marine construction is seeking candidates for concrete finishers. Work throughout Maricopa County. Must have own transportation and a valid driver's license and be willing to travel throughout Maricopa County and occasionally the State. Responsibilities: Spreads and level concrete to specified depth and consistency Smoothing and shaping surfaces of freshly poured concrete Removes rough or defective spots from concrete surfaces Molds expansion joints and edges Sub-grade work, mixing of concrete and setting of forms Qualifications: Ability to work and adapt to a wide variety of conditions Must be able to bend, lift, and work on slopes Works within precise standards of accuracy Takes pride in craftsmanship Practice good safety habits Minimum qualifications: Must be 18 or older with a valid form of identification. Must have a reliable source of transportation and must be willing to travel. Concrete experience What we offer:   Competitive salary $18-$24 per hour of straight time and time and a half ($27-$36) for every hour over 40 per week.  Paid sick leave, on the job training, competent person training, EM385 and OSHA 30 hour.
