WSP is currently seeking an exceptional candidate for an Engineering Intern for our Lisle, IL office from May to August 2020. This opportunity is available for a college student in good standing working towards a degree in Civil, Electrical, Networking, or Construction Engineering within an accredited program. The candidate will gain experience working with the Illinois Tollway under direct supervision of the firm's leading professionals. Duties and Responsibilities: Work as a member of a team Work safely adjacent to a high-speed transportation facility Operate hand-held data collection tools (iPad) Inspect the civil infrastructure of the Illinois Tollway Perform elementary engineering assignments and work from designs of others, compiles data, performs elementary design computations, prepares engineering documents Talent is the essence of meeting our client’s objectives, goals and challenges. Be involved in projects with our WSP inspection team working with the Illinois Tollway. Requirements Experience Qualifications: Good standing as a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior student, actively enrolled in an accredited Engineering (or related) Undergraduate or Graduate Program Must be motivated and have a strong desire to learn engineering skills related to civil and structural projects. Knowledge of using a personal computer to operate software applications Ability to communicate effectively with others Preferred Qualifications: Local candidates preferred. Good problem solving and analytical ability Good organizational skills and attention to details Clean driving record Experience with Microstation, AutoCAD and knowledge of reading drawings Working knowledge of GIS databases and associated GIS applications Working knowledge of Microsoft applications, including but not limited to, Excel, Word, and Access.
