PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Cost/Sourcing Engineer is responsible for completing assigned engineering projects in accordance with Sourcing Commodity Managers to provide technical support for cost down initiatives. The person in this role will accomplish this by serving as a liaison between Commodity Managers, suppliers, engineering and manufacturing to provide results to achieve targeted goals set by the Sourcing Director.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serves as a member of the sourcing team with specific assignments related to cost reduction and quality objectives
Serves as an internal engineering consultant to the Sourcing Commodity Managers for cost down initiatives.
Conducts investigations into the nature of parts, components and assemblies used in Gast products to reach cost down goals.
Design tests in accordance with accepted statistical methods and documents results.
