ENERCON is currently seeking an Engineering Consultant to support Grand Gulf Nuclear Plant in Port Gibson, MS. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work in a diverse and innovative team to evaluate, design and modify power generating facilities. This will be a temporary position expected to last several months.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to perform and lead highly complex projects. Your Key Responsibilities will be to:
Design and analysis of changes to existing power plants as well as new plant systems.
Support of engineering design and analysis projects for the power industry.
Perform work requiring the application of basic technical principles, theories, standards and concepts. This will include reading and understanding design drawings and technical specifications as necessary to support preparation of project deliverables, such as calculations, specifications, and engineering evaluations.
Perform reviews, assemble and prepare design modification packages
Perform site walkdowns to identify design solutions and develop cost-effective problem resolutions
Support field implementation including development of field change requests (FCRs) and temporary modifications
Perform return to service and closeout of modifications
Most projects are multi-disciplined and require extensive interface with other staff engineers as well as engineers working out of our offices.
Evaluates operations & proposed modifications to determine compliance with engineering principles, standards, federal, state, or local statutes, and environmental regulations.
Bachelors of Science Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Civil) from an accredited university
Minimum 10 years’ experience
PE License desired
Demonstrated proficiency in preparation of calculations
Makes recommendations based on knowledge and experience
Directs and oversees routine and advanced technical work performed by others on assigned projects and maintains quality standards of all assigned projects
Entergy qualifications cards for ECs, calculations, design verification, specifications, testing, licensing, etc. desired
Proficient in Word and Excel
Good writing, presentation and communication skills
Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams
Ability to travel between 15-25% of the time; duration of travel may vary depending on project and client needs, ranging from a few days to a few weeks. Position may involve a client site assignment lasting several months at a time.
Ability to pass a pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings; ENERCON and client specific background checks; and an annual motor vehicle record (MVR) according to company and client policies
