Our four major business lines include Corporate & Investment Banking, Commercial Banking, Commercial Real Estate, and Wells Fargo Commercial Capital. The Wholesale Control (WC) organization serves as the front line risk management organization within the Wholesale Banking group of Wells Fargo supporting the Wholesale businesses with risk strategy, implementation, and execution. The team is responsible to identify and assess risks, design and implement controls, and execute and monitor the controls to ensure they are working effectively to manage risk across Wholesale. Wholesale Control interfaces with Independent Risk Management and Audit to drive comprehensive and consistent implementation of regulatory and corporate risk policies and programs across Wholesale. The Role The Integrated Process Risk and Control (IPRC) team governs, administers, and facilitates execution of the process-centric risk and control identification and assessment program across Wholesale Banking per IPRC policy and in partnership with the Wells Fargo Business Process Management (BPM) program. The IPRC Manager is a member of the IPRC team for the Wholesale Banking group. The IPRC Manager specializes in process-based risk and control identification and assessment applied within the BPM methodology and execution of the Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSA). Additionally, the IPRC Manager leads control capability development and enhancement activities providing control design and development expertise. The IPRC Manager works across the various business units within Wholesale Banking to drive consistency in risk and control identification, assessment, and control design and development. The IPRC Manager is an expert in the field of risk control design and operating effectiveness and drives control improvement strategies broadly across Wholesale Banking to optimize the effectiveness of the risk control environment. Specific Responsibilities: Performs and manages Front Line responsibilities for the Integrated Process Risk and Control (IPRC) program for Wholesale Banking as follows: Stratifies business processes and oversees process prioritization (high, moderate or low). Identifies and documents risks, controls, and self-assurance activities associated with business processes. Assesses risks and controls and executes process-based Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSA). Remediates RCSA quality assurance and Independent Risk Management (IRM) credible challenge findings. Collaborates with Business Process Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Compliance, Legal, Operational Risk, and Integrated Process Risk and Control teams to deliver RCSA program requirements, including the aggregation of individual RCSA results. Identifies, documents, and routes for remediation process, risk, and control gaps and improvement opportunities ensuring issue capture, as appropriate. Other Responsibilities also include: Designs and implements risk mitigation strategies and controls that effectively mitigate risks and appropriately address requirements of applicable statutes, regulations, and risk governance documents. Coaches and provides guidance on the development, implementation, and monitoring of moderately complex business-specific processes to identify, assess, and mitigate risk for the business process. Identifies, assesses and aggregates risks. Escalates risks where necessary if risk boundaries or limits are triggered. Collaborates on the designs of self-assurance activities and metrics for monitoring control effectiveness. Serves as liaison between Independent Risk Management (IRM) and a Front Line business groups and provides support in the interpretation of policy, guidelines, and governance programs. Develops and implements risk monitoring and risk reporting processes that align with company-wide risk programs. The Business Risk and Control team is responsible for partnering with the relevant business group to identify, assess, manage and mitigate current and emerging risk exposures associated with their activities and operations. Monitors, measures, evaluates, and reports on the impact of decisions and controls to the relevant business group and enterprise function. In partnership with business groups, ensures execution of business-specific programs and processes and controls to identify, assess, and mitigate risk. Manages and directs staff on the strategy and execution of activities associated with the Business Risk and Control for a business group or functional area with moderate risk and complexity. Manages the support to the business for the design of business-specific risk controls/processes and development of remediation plans to address any control weaknesses or gaps. Manages the development of self-assurance activities. Consults with Front Line management to ensure businesses adhere to Self-Assurance Activities Policy requirements. Leads implementation of complex and strategic initiatives with moderate risk and complexity. Manages communication and collaboration with business heads, Legal, Audit and regulators regarding risk management of business-specific risk programs. Manages a team of Associate Managers, Officers and/or Sr Associates or cross-functional teams in accomplishing goals and priorities. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit's risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements. Required Qualifications 2+ years of leadership experience 7+ years of experience in risk management (includes compliance, financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, business process management) or 7+ years of financial services industry experience, of which 5+ years must include direct experience in risk management Other Desired Qualifications Proven experience designing, developing, implementing and maintaining effective risk management programs, especially risk controls, within a large complex financial services company Superior facilitation and coaching skills to guide business process owners and risk management partners through risk and control identification and assessment activities in accordance with Wells Fargo RCSA principles and methodologies Expert-level experience executing Risk and Control Self Assessments (RCSA) Extensive understanding of Operational Risk & Compliance principles and methodologies Experience in identifying, assessing, designing, and operating risk controls, including leveraging data and technology automation to enable control effectiveness and developing measurement and monitoring techniques to track health of controls Experience in Business Process Management (BPM) (e.g. Six Sigma), including understanding of Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) and its applicability to BPM Operational knowledge associated with the processes, products, and activities of Wholesale Banking Knowledge of Compliance laws, rules, and regulations associated with Wholesale Banking Ability to manage and/or collaborate with geographically dispersed teams, matrixed relationships and interact with all levels of an organization Must be a proactive self-starter who values personal accountability and thrives under pressure in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
