The team focuses on several key risk types, including conduct, credit, financial crimes, information security, interest rate, liquidity, market, model, operational, regulatory compliance, reputation, strategic, and technology risk. The group provides leadership, enhances communications, assists with problem identification and solutions, and shares best practices. In addition, the group provides an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company. Wells Fargo Compliance is the company's compliance independent risk management function, providing company-wide leadership, standards, support, and independent oversight to ensure that all front-line business groups abide by applicable laws, rules, regulations and regulatory guidance (regulatory requirements), meet compliance responsibilities, and manage compliance risks. Wells Fargo Compliance credibly challenges management decisions, business processes and activities, and evaluates and assesses adherence to applicable regulatory requirements. It provides appropriate analysis, reporting, and escalation to senior management and the Board of Directors, sets minimum standards for the company, and gives advice, guidance, and support for compliance risk management activities across the enterprise. The Commercial Banking Compliance Team within Wholesale Compliance is responsible for providing Compliance support and oversight for Commercial Banking (comprised of three legacy businesses, Business Banking, Middle Market Banking, and Government & Institutional Banking). Our goal is to ensure that Commercial Banking understands the laws, regulations, rules and policies inherent in its business and have established controls to promote compliance. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: We are seeking highly skilled, passionate and self-motivated compliance professionals with previous compliance experience in a commercial lending environment to join the team. This individual will collaborate with the regulatory control team providing compliance expertise, strategic direction and guidance regarding applicable laws, rules, regulations, enterprise standards. In additional the successful candidate will recommend compliance-related best practices and implement key elements of the compliance program, including compliance risk assessments, initiative management, establishment and implementation of policies and standards, delivery of compliance training and awareness, compliance issue management, metrics and reporting. The consultant will be expected to share expertise and best practices, ensure consistent implementation/application, challenge business decisions, monitor performance, and provide reporting. The individual may be assigned complex laws and regulations and will work closely with the control executive team to ensure the effective controls to mitigate the compliance risk exist. Examples of potential laws or regulations that might be assigned include, but not limited to Fair and Responsible Lending, Flood Disaster Protection Act, Regulation O, Regulation W, Regulation U, etc. Our scope does not include BSA/AML as those regulations covered by a separate team. Activities may include but not limited to: Assisting with the development of the compliance program and playing a leadership role in the transition of the compliance oversight model. Developing a strong understanding of the products, services, systems and processes in the three businesses and determine the applicable laws, regulations and policies Working collaboratively with the control executive team on the application of laws, regulations and corporate policies and controls to mitigate risk Monitoring business activities, provide credible challenge and escalating compliance issues Collaborating with the business on new compliance related projects or initiatives requiring implementation Please note: Based on the volume of applications received, this job posting may be removed prior to the indicated close date.
