FactSet Department Description Sales Engineering at FactSet is responsible for delivering enterprise solutions at scale for both large & sophisticated clients across the financial services industry. Sales Engineering is responsible for elevating relationships and driving partnerships with the C-Suite with a focus on practical solutions to our clients' most pressing business challenges grounded in FactSet's 40 years of experience in content, analytics, technology & services. Sales Engineering is a multi-disciplined organization built on top of five strong functions: Strategic Sales Engineering builds C-Level relationships with CTOs; Solutions Advisory leads our business advisory, Surveying and Blueprinting Practices, as well as due diligence management; Technical Advisory leads our technical deployment planning & security discussions; Process Engineering develops best practices around building production processes at scale; and Developer Advocacy + Data Architecture (DA2), focused on building scalable client solutions using FactSet's full suite of APIs, content & data feeds. Sales Engineering is aligned into both FactSet's Sales and Technology organizations, offering our clients the benefits of FactSet's deep bench of client service personnel and more than 1,500 technologists and product developers. About the Role Sales Engineering is rapidly expanding our Developer Advocacy + Data Architecture (DA2) practice due to strong demands from clients and to help drive forward FactSet's Digital Transformation initiative. We are seeking a candidate with experience in the data management space within financial services to help drive the next generation of technology solutions, where data will be core to successful deployments. Our ideal candidate will have experience working in or establishing a data governance or data management program, will have a solid understanding of the use cases of various data management tools such as Enterprise Data Management (EDM) platforms, data warehouses, data lakes, "golden copy" processes, etc. Candidates will need to be able to balance client engagement and also manage the pre-sales lifecycle along with Sales, Professional Services, Implementation and Support to cultivate and drive specific sales opportunities. We are looking for a candidate who is entrepreneurial, who is process driven, who can build relationships with business & technology buyers, and who can talk about "enterprise" without losing focus on a client's immediate needs. Responsibilities Partner with Strategic Sales Engineers as well as FactSet's team of 1,500 Global Sales and Client Service professionals to build & execute on a pipeline of large revenue, high impact enterprise deals, with a focus on those requiring expertise in application development and complex data architectures Act as a client facing and internal advocate & subject matter expert on FactSet's full solutions stack, with a focus on data architecture, and how data is central to complex technology solutions Liaise with FactSet's Engineering, Product and Strategy organizations to drive specific opportunities with a focus on helping to craft enterprise solutions Present at client & industry events to position FactSet as a thought & technology leader in our field Build individual relationships with regional sales managers and individual salespeople to help drive FactSet's sales pipeline Requirements 8-10+ years of industry experience within the financial services industry, preferably within asset management or consulting practices focused on asset management Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or the equivalent Experience is data management, data governance, enterprise data architecture, portfolio operations or similar Familiarity with data architectures within the modern financial services firm, including Enterprise Data Management (EDM) platforms, data warehouses, data lakes, "golden master" processes, digital transformation efforts, etc. Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL database technologies, data modeling, and various methods for moving data around the modern enterprise (bulk extraction, database replication, RESTful web services, etc.) Ability to develop a broad understanding of FactSet's product offering across the full suite of our solutions including applications, content, technology, services, workflow solutions and professional services Ability to represent FactSet at the C-Suite and Director level of our clients Ability to clearly communicate with business and technology stakeholders, both internally and externally Ability to interpret client requirements and map them onto the full suite of FactSet's applications, content, technology, services, workflow solutions & professionals services with an eye towards what's right for the client, understanding that we often have many different solutions that solve for a client's needs Ability to produce clear, concise documentation that captures client requirements, solution templates, etc. Ability to handle many client engagements and projects simultaneously Must be a self-starter with an ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and embody an entrepreneurial spirit Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities and skills.
