The Product Risk team within the WIM Control Organization has a variety of Front Line Risk Management responsibilities including Product Risk Oversight, Market Risk oversight, and Product Risk Analytics for Wells Fargo Advisors (WFA). This includes consulting with various business partners to help identify inherent and emerging risks related to the products and services that WFA offers. This Business Risk and Control Senior Manager is responsible for providing Risk Oversight to WFA's product offerings including advisory, capital markets, brokerage, and lending. This is a highly visible leadership role with opportunities to interface with senior leaders in WFA, Business Risk and Control, Independent Risk Teams, and Products and Advice leaders. The person in this role will manage the assessment of inherent risk; identification of existing or potential controls; identification and escalation of conflicts of interest; and evaluation of residual risk for products and business initiatives. This Manager is responsible for understanding the Wells Fargo Risk Management Framework and the Risk Appetite of the business, and applying these principles to any changes contemplated in the New Products and Business Initiatives Process. The Manager will also help cover Risk reviews related to routine product modifications. In addition to product and project reviews, the Manager will interface with Independent Risk Management teams, such as Compliance, Fiduciary and Investment Risk Oversight, and Operational Risk Business Oversight. They will also prepare and provide risk and control evaluations of the business and present the results to WFA Control managers or Independent Risk Management. These responsibilities may be executed in partnership with other WFA or WIM Risk and Control team members and managers. Key responsibilities of the Business Risk and Control Senior Manager - Wells Fargo Advisors Product, Market, Model, and Analytic Manager will be: Execute the Risk Management framework by participating as a voting member with veto authority in numerous WFA committees including: Product and New Business Initiatives and related subcommittees including Business Risk Assessment Subcommittee Investment Advisory Committees and related subcommittees Deal Commitment Committee Best Execution Committee Volcker Committee Collaborate with WIM Investment, Operational, and Credit Risk for risk analysis and evaluation. Partner with Independent Risk teams, including Operational Risk Business Oversight, Fiduciary and Investment Risk Oversight, and Corporate Market Risk for corporate policy implementation, gap analysis, and, where applicable, the establishment and testing of controls. Participate as the Risk leader engaged in business changes in response to regulatory initiatives like the SEC's Regulation Best Interest changes. Evaluate risk factors for New Products and Business Initiatives as a voting member of the Business Risk Assessment Subcommittee for WFA. Determine scope and materiality of products and business initiatives for the New Business Initiatives (NBI) Policy. Approve Risk Assessments in the Risk Assessment of New Business Initiatives (RANBI) tool. Identify Risk issues throughout the life cycle of a Product or Business Initiative. Socialize and escalate top of mind risks. Direct a team of analytical professionals focused on quantitative projects designed to identify and measure product and operational risk, and quantify client exposure to current market events. Enhance Model Risk Management for WFA. Develop strategies to comply with corporate policy. Partner with the WIM Model Governance Team. Promote understanding of the Model Risk Policy in the business. Escalate and socialize risk issues, and provide credible challenge, as applicable. As a Team Member Manager , you are expected to achieve success by leading yourself, your team, and the business. Required Qualifications 10+ years of experience in risk management (includes compliance, financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, business process management) or 10+ years of financial services industry experience, of which 7+ years must include direct experience in risk management 3+ years of management experience Other Desired Qualifications FINRA Securities licenses - Series 7, 9/10 or 24 In depth brokerage product experience Knowledge of the Wells Fargo Risk Framework Experience using data analytics to identify issues and streamline workflow Energetic self-starter who is flexible, conscientious, proactive, and detail-oriented Comfortable communicating risks and escalating issues to senior leaders Comfortable making suggestions to improve current processes within the team and department Ability to interact with all levels of an organization Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure Disclaimer All offers for employment with Wells Fargo are contingent upon the candidate having successfully completed a criminal background check.
