PROJECT OVERVIEW: The individual will support the Electronic Warfare and Airborne Communications Program Office (EW&A PO) with sustainment and modernization of a variety of existing common avionics systems to meet existing DoD / civil mandates and DoD / national-level priorities (National Command, Control and Communications NC3) This position will be assigned to government offices at Robins AFB, GA. JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for providing communications electronics engineering process analysis, and sustaining engineering support services to ensure the effective and efficient sustainment and delivery of multiple airborne communications legacy and modernization programs. Services include some or all of the following: Duties will include technical sustainment support and analysis for multiple Airborne Communications programs Conducting reliability and maintainability studies, technology insertion initiatives and address interoperability issues on various Common Avionics systems Evaluating impacts of obsolescence and diminishing manufacturing sources and material shortages (DMSMS) Providing Configuration management support Investigation of system deficiencies and technical publication services Conducting Engineering Investigations for various common avionics systems including: diagnostic troubleshooting for LRUs/parts, replacement of obsolete parts and maintenance of the various common avionics systems Will work with several levels of government and industry personnel on a regular basis, and will frequently be called on to provide briefings and lead technical meetings/reviews REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: Security Clearance: Secret Active Secret Clearance Bachelors Degree in Engineering 5 years related experience Experience as a Systems Integration, sustainment or Electronics/Electrical Engineer 1 tour/assignment at AF Product/Logistics Center, or similar US Army/US Navy Center, assigned to a System Program Office Knowledge of and experience with Technical Order (TO) and Time Compliance Technical Order (TCTO) changes, Computer Software Configuration Item (CSCI) and Computer Program Identification Number (CPIN) updates Experience with defense acquisition engineering management processes as contained in the DoD 5000 series directives Excellent communications skills, both written and verbally Clear understanding of the OSD and USAF Acquisition organization DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: Post-Bachelor’s work toward Degree in Electronic Engineering or Computer Information Systems 10 years related experience Experience with avionics or radio/communications system integration on military platforms; Experience with software defined radio systems Level II DAWIA Certification in Systems Planning, Research, Development & Engineering WORK LOCATION: Robins AFB, GA TRAVEL: 5% WBB is a technical and management consulting company that provides innovative products and services that solve government and commercial customer’s toughest problems.
