Summary: Manages the feed transportation function
for the Algona operations to ensure safe, efficient, timely and accurate
transportation of feed out of the Algona Mill, toll mills in Iowa and South
Dakota and Nevada Mill. The transportation function includes the training of
new feed haul drivers and supervision of approximately 30 drivers, truck and
trailer repair, vehicle wash, potential future repair garage, service fleet, commercial
fleet, and contract haul arrangements.
Operates in compliance with federal, state and local regulations, the
manager performs the following duties personally or through subordinates.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Manages the day to day
operations of the transportation function within Algona operation,? including
the supervision of drivers, mechanics and contract feed haul arrangements.
Manages the financial
performance by controlling costs, budgeting, business and financial
planning, and tracking financial activity via P & L review.

Safety and OSHA regulations, Food Safety requirements.

accountability exists to ensure this happens.
Provides leadership to
establish a safe working environment and culture including safety audits,
safety meetings, safety procedures and safety rules.
Maintains key performance
indicators (KPI’s) and reports to management on latest trends,
opportunities for improvement and other related issues within transportation.
Reviews, evaluates and
creates Samsara software reports to monitor driver and vehicle
performance, driver safety and to generate monthly reports.
Manage and schedule Paid
Time Off and holiday schedule with drivers and repair shop personnel with
regards to business needs and schedules.
Inspects interior and
exterior of trucks and trailers, performs parts inventory, tool inventory
and inspections monthly.
Plan and facilitate
weekly, monthly, quarterly meetings for huddles, safety, food safety and
document for audit compliance.
Ensure driver’s Commercial
Driver’s License and Health cards are up to date and renewed in a timely
manner to maintain compliance.
Oversees the feed
transportation and vehicle maintenance function including coordination
with production, feed manufacturing, office staff and external
