Responsibilities OBXtek is currently staffing for a Computer Sytems Engineer III for the PLMS contract at Scott AFB. The prospective candidate, under minimal supervision, supports development projects from design to support; evaluates effectiveness of installed systems and services; advises on solutions on a range of IT issues. Additional responsibilities, knowledge, skills and abilities may include, but are not limited to: Supports implementation of security programs designed to anticipate, assess, and minimize system vulnerabilities; coordinates implementation of security programs across platforms and establishes vulnerability reporting criteria. Reviews security risk reports, security system threat assessments and system security management and provides recommendations to the MAFPS Program Manager Manager (PM). Prepares POA&Ms. Tracks the Authorization To Operate (ATO), Interim Authorization To Operate (IATO) and other Certification and Accreditation (C&A) documents through the approval process. Provides the PM technical assistance to address system security requirements IAW National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), DODI 8500.1; DoD 8500.2, DODI 8510.01 and other applicable security directives or policies. Provides trend analysis and recommendations to the PM on security constraints and industry best practices. Also provides analysis related to the design, development, and integration of hardware, software, man-machine interfaces and all system level requirements to provide an integrated IT solution. Applies detailed knowledge of a wide range of IA concepts, practices, and procedures to ensure the secure integration and operation of IT systems. Conducts security assessments and security consulting services. Analyzes information security requirements. Should also be familiar with analyzing and preparing documentation in support of implementing the Risk Management Framework (RMF) security posture. The Systems Engineer supports the Program PM by providing systems engineering and security services in support of IT programs and systems. In this role, the Systems Engineer performs a variety of computer system engineering project tasks applied to specialized technology problems. Tasks involve integration of electronic processes or methodologies to resolve total system problems, or technology problems as they relate to Information Assurance requirements. Applies operating system security configuration. Applies analytical and systematic approaches in the resolution of problems of work flow, organization, and planning. Leads Programs in analyzing and preparing documentation in support of implementing the Risk Management Framework (RMF) security posture. Analyzes the MAFPS security posture in a Cloud. Other duties relative to this position include, but are not limited to: Provide engineering expertise to track COTS software product licensing requirements, allocations, and support submission of funding requests Provide recommendations to the PM on any changes to the MAFPS program's software strategy Oversee configuration management activities, ensuring policy is current, realistic and enforced Coordinate test activities between respective stakeholders, removing testing blockers and ensuring timely progress with moving deliveries into operations Serve as liaison with cybersecurity team member, providing technical information to complete vital cybersecurity artifacts (i.e., ATO, IATT, RA, POA&Ms, PPS, etc.) Provide additional MAFPS sustainment engineering support as necessary Experience in working with the DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP), eMass, and the C & A process Assist in migrating Programs from DIACAP to Risk Management Framework Knowledge of security requirements in Cloud environments Knowledge of utilizing Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Qualifications Secret Clearance required.
