Employment Status: Part-time, Temporary "non-exempt" position. Work Schedule: To be Determined Deadline: First review will occur on September 2, 2019.
Under the general supervision of the Department Chair of the Jack H. Brown College of Business and Public Administration (JHBCBPA), the incumbent will provide administrative support services that support the mission of JHBCBPA. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Incumbent will communicate with clients via verbal, written and electonic correspondence (i.e. answering phones, sending emails, greet clients as they enter the Office etc.)
Assist with department service to current students, including answering the phone and advising students of procedural requirements.
Incumbent is required to perform all work with independent judgment, accuracy, and speed.
Incumbent will provide support to department course instructors to assist with their classroom preparation. (I.e. order supplies, copy materials, etc.)
Assist with course website preparation and minor troubleshooting. (i.e. Blackboard support)
Help department instructor's present materials to students, including setting up instructional modules, administering exams online, and otherwise creating online class work.
Assist instructors with creating and/or requesting ADA accessible documents/ computer files, as needed.
Incumbent will serve as a content editor for the JHBCBPA website and social media platforms (i.e. Twitter, Facebook, etc.)
Assists with the coordinating the JHBCBPA MPA outreach and recruitment effort.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Graduation from high school program or its equivalent.
The equivalent to one (1) year of experience in general office clerical work is required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Thorough knowledge of office methods, procedures and practices, and a thorough knowledge of correct English, grammar, spelling and punctuation.
A general knowledge of applicable university infrastructure, policies and procedures is required.
Fluency in using standard office software such as MS Office package is desired.
The ability to learn, interpret independently, and apply a variety of complex policies and procedures is required along with the ability to identify deviations from applicable policies.
The ability to apply independent judgment, discretion, and initiative to address problems and develop practical, thorough and, at times, creative solutions is required.
The ability to perform standard arithmetic functions of a transactional nature is required.
The ability to work with a diverse group of people is required.
Active problem solving skills are required along with effective interpersonal skills.
