Lifeguard (Part-Time) – Town of Christiansburg Work is performed under the direction of the Lifeguard Crew Leader and Operations Supervisor. The Lifeguard is responsible for ensuring the safety of facility patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies and assisting with aquatic programs and pool operations. Upon hire the Lifeguard must: be eligible to work in accordance with DOL Youth Rules, age 16 and up; Demonstrate mastery of skills including swimming, rescue skills, CPR/first aid and back boarding; Possess American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification, including CPR for the Professional Rescuer/AED and First Aid;  Be able to enforce rules in a tactful and effective manner with courtesy and provide effective customer service; Be able to walk/crawl/climb/stoop/bend; stand for long periods of time and lift/carry/manipulate loads weighing up to 50 pounds.  To view the complete job description and to apply visit https://va-christiansburg.civicplushrms.com/careers/ .
