Employment Status: Full-time, Probationary "non-exempt" position Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (with adjusted summer schedule). Some evenings and weekend work may be required to support events and Career Center activities

The incumbent is responsible for the coordination of administrative, marketing, promotion, and logistic responsibilities for all Career Center small and marquee annual events. Day-to-day work is performed under the general direction of the Director and with the lead work direction of the Assistant Director.
Provides event operations; planning and logistics for pre and post marquee events, event invitation distribution, greeting and answering inquiries from clients (not limited to in person, phone and email), and data entry. May required to travel to the Palm Desert campus.
Serves as lead and provides work direction and training to all special events crew and student volunteers for marquee events, including: training on customer service, leadership skills, and organization skills in order to deliver high quality experience for external partners.
Explore internal and external vendors for marketing and promotional materials to support staff for each campus event and is accountable for the execution of all events and tracks event outcomes using the main office platform,
Handles event logistics, such as employer registrations, catering, parking signs, sponsors, setting up informational tables, supports on-campus interviews, facilitates employer and student interaction through on-line database (Handshake)
Serves as the point-of-contact for administrative tasks related to campus career fair events registrations and payment instructions for vendors and campus partners using technology to track and generate reports.
Supports in gathering event data, analyzing, and interpreting the results to assess career center programming to ensure effectiveness aligning with campus policies and procedures set forth by division.
Engages in on- and off-campus professional development aligning with related work responsibilities
Contributes to the overall success of career services by performing other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Applicants must have obtained high school diploma, technical/vocational program, or their equivalents. Bachelors degree preferred.
Three years of related office work experience. Experience working in higher education preferred.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Experience to be fully functional in all technical aspects of work assignments. Thorough, detailed knowledge of applicable university infrastructure, policies, and procedures.
Thorough knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
Thorough knowledge of office systems and ability to use a broader range of technology, systems, and packages.
Ability to independently handle multiple work unit priorities and projects
Ability to apply independently a wide variety of policies and procedures where specific guidelines may not exist.
Working knowledge of budget policies and procedures.
Ability to perform standard business math, such as calculate ratios and percentages, track financial data, and make simple projections.
Ability to draft and compose correspondence and standard reports.
Ability to handle effectively a broader range of interpersonal contacts, including those at a higher level and those sensitive in nature.
Physical Requirements :
Must be able to lift, lower, push, and pull loads ranging in weight from 5 - 50 lbs;
Must be able to carry loads ranging from 20-50 lbs. for distances up to 20 feet; and
Must be capable of kneeling, reaching overhead, climbing stairs, walking, twisting, stooping, and bending; depending upon the project, employee may spend 20-50% of day sitting, 20-50% of day standing, 20-50% of day walking.
A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU.
