The Sr. Manager, CLA Operations Technology and Innovation role is responsible to manage and bring technology solutions and platforms to Corporate and Legal Affairs "CLA" to increase operational excellence both internally and externally and develop a technology roadmap to implement industry standards from a technology and innovation perspective. This role will develop, select, implement and lead technology platforms focused on innovation, improving services, operational excellence, effective data management and change management. The technology strategy will leverage digital technologies, such as AI, data analytics and automation. In addition, this role will be responsible to develop a methodology and processes to establish priorities and execute on various initiatives. Success in this role requires expert knowledge with the latest technology solutions, innovation trends, standards, and applications in specific legal practice areas. Success also requires effective and efficient strategic balancing of various stakeholder needs and opportunities across CLA and specifically partnering with key stakeholders to assess needs and identify or develop technology solutions. Main Responsibilities: Partner, manage and oversee improvement of the Technology and Innovation Strategy ensuring the strategy is maintained current with industry standards and supports CLA's initiatives. This includes leading and execution of CLA's Technology and Innovation platforms, including document management, contract management, knowledge management, intellectual property management systems, electronic litigation holds system, artificial intelligence and other automation technology. Lead ongoing reviews of business processes and workflows and developing optimization strategies that can be utilized globally. This includes global review of existing and new technologies for expansion or implementation. Identify best practices by staying up-to-date on the latest process and technical advancements to automate and modernize workflow and business processes to enable CLA to execute departmental strategy. Monitor efficient/effective use of technology, including identifying and evaluating emerging technology and make recommendations regarding tools and technology, including AI and data analytics, reflecting best practices/latest standards. Implement and maintain a Knowledge and Document Management solution to develop and manage challenges related to technical, operational and change management. Maintain expert knowledge of emerging technological solutions, trends, and developments; make recommendations and establish business cases concerning adoption of new technologies and streamlining business processes; and manage implementation and go-forward support of solutions to ensure operational excellence. Develop / maintain industry relationships and actively participate in relevant industry groups to facilitate benchmarking and ensure expert subject matter knowledge base. Develop and deliver a best-in-class Technology Plan/Roadmap for CLA to achieve operational excellence and provide the most efficient and effective services and overall client satisfaction. Create, manage and measure strategy related metrics to drive initiatives and deliver reports/metrics from applications, including customized reports based on needs of the CLA Bachelor's Degree 5 years' relevant industry experience required; Operations experience preferred Expert knowledge in document management, knowledge management, IP asset management, contract management, eDiscovery, information governance, information technology, and electronic information management principles, solutions, and best practices required. Experience leading large, strategic global initiatives with significant influence globally Strong negotiation and communication skills (both oral and written). Ability to communicate issues in a clear and understandable manner. Must be able to translate between technical and requirements to effectively achieve results Attention to detail, effective problem solver, assertive decision maker, facilitator and strong communicator Self-directed with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and to aggressively drive project milestones to successful completion and ability to manage large workload, multi-task, and focus on critical priorities and ability to produce high quality work under deadline pressures Strong experience in technology change management, project management, business process management and system implementation Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships internally as well as externally.
