It all begins with you. Enterprise Finance drives financial management for the company and maintains and enhances risk and financial controls. Key functions within Enterprise Finance include finance and accounting; Treasury; corporate development, mergers, and acquisitions; Data Management and Insights, the Customer Remediation Center of Excellence, Enterprise Shared Services, Business Process Management, and Corporate Strategy. Enterprise Finance informs shareholders, regulators, taxing authorities, team members, and leaders of the company's financial performance through earnings releases, investor meetings and conferences, and meetings with regulators and credit rating agencies, following appropriate reporting guidelines. They also maintain and enhance risk and financial controls and lead many of the company's shared services functions including corporate properties, security, and global services. THE TEAM The Financial Performance Management (FPM) team is responsible for identifying opportunities to improve Wells Fargo's financial performance and risk profile, optimizing profitability and balance sheet usage, and promoting decision-making in alignment with corporate objectives. FPM leads the company's effort in designing enterprise-wide methods to evaluate the risk-adjusted returns and profit contribution of Wells Fargo's products and businesses that affect the company's funding, liquidity, interest rate sensitivity, and capital adequacy profile. In carrying out its responsibilities, the FPM team: Partners with businesses, finance, treasury, and senior management to assess product and business profitability, including advising on strategies to improve financial performance and growth Leads the design, implementation, and management for all enterprise-wide allocation methodologies that relate to the funding, liquidity, interest rate sensitivity, and capital adequacy profile of the company Seeks to create consistently-defined standards and metrics that allow comparability when measuring financial performance across different components of the company's businesses The FPM team is part of Corporate Treasury within Enterprise Finance. THE POSITION The position will be focused on enterprise-wide strategic performance assessments and related senior executive support. The position's primary responsibilities fall into three key areas: 1) assist in the development of financial strategies to improve the financial performance of lines of business and products across Wells Fargo, 2) support management on performance-related projects, and 3) ongoing enhancement of the FPM framework. The position will report directly to the senior leader within FPM responsible for enterprise-wide strategic initiatives and internal advisory. Enterprise-wide strategic performance assessments for Wells Fargo's businesses and products: Contribute to the creation of customized analytics to help evaluate the profitability and risk-adjusted returns of business and products across the company Assist in the development of financial strategies to improve the financial performance and risk profile of the company. This could include strategies to optimize business or product mix, align day-to-day business decisions with corporate objectives and constraints, or position the company appropriately in advance of regulatory changes Support the creation of profitability and financial strategy related presentations to senior audiences (e.g. internal committees, executive management, the Board of Directors) Work with the senior leader in FPM and Corporate Strategy on quantitative and performance analyses supporting various firm-wide projects and initiatives and with Corporate Development on potential acquisitions, divestitures, and other strategic transactions Support for profitability-related ad hoc requests from executive management: Take an active role in the production of ad hoc analyses/requests originating from the senior audiences mentioned above. These requests could relate to a variety of topics including, but not limited to, business/product profitability or risk-adjusted returns, corporate strategy, acquisitions and divestitures, and treasury-related analytics Assist with any required coordination with stakeholders in other groups (Corporate Treasury, FP&A, LOB Finance, Corporate Strategy, Corporate Development, Risk, etc.) in order to be responsive to these requests Assist with the ongoing enhancement of the FPM framework: Play an active role in continuing to develop the company's financial performance management framework, including designing new methodologies or refinements to existing methods. This includes the construction of complex financial pro formas in order to assess the impact of these new/refined methodologies and developing documentation required for approval of changes to the framework Required Qualifications 6+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: finance, accounting, analytics and reporting; or a BS/BA degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Business and 4+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: finance, accounting, analytics or reporting Desired Qualifications Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access) skills Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Knowledge and understanding of financial analysis, forecasting and analyzing interest income and balance sheet behavior Financial modeling experience Ability to successfully operate in a complex and matrixed environment A BS/BA degree or higher in one or a combination of the following: Finance, Accounting, Analytics, or Reporting Other Desired Qualifications Ability to prepare management level presentations that are both succinct but also visually dynamic Experience in corporate or investment banking, strategy, or related role covering the financial services industry Street Address NC-Charlotte: 301 S College St - Charlotte, NC Disclaimer All offers for employment with Wells Fargo are contingent upon the candidate having successfully completed a criminal background check.
