Corporate Risk Helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. We focus on three key risk areas: credit risk, operational risk and market risk. We help our management and Board of Directors identify and monitor risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and take appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company. Corporate Risk Control Corporate Risk Control is the front line risk team for Corporate Risk and is accountable for assessing and ensuring effective management of associated risks generated by Corporate Risk, as well as conformance with enterprise policies, frameworks and standards. This team plays a critical role in the planning, assessment, control, mitigation, monitoring and testing phases of the risk program implementation across risk types for each of the groups making up Corporate Risk including Compliance, Financial Crimes, Conduct Oversight, Operational Risk, Credit/Market Risk, Strategic Enterprise Risk Management, Conduct COE, Model Risk, and the Risk COO. Additionally, it is the responsibility of the Risk Control team to coordinate the implementation and execution of Enterprise Risk Programs such as Risk Identification, Risk Appetite, and Issues Management across Corporate Risk; providing Front Line challenge and escalating issues/concerns as appropriate. The Role This senior leader will report to the Control Risk Governance and Programs Leader and is responsible for leading a team of reporting and analytics professionals to aggregate metrics and complex datasets, perform practical business analysis, and develop and present insights in a meaningful and easy-to-understand manner. This position interacts with senior leaders, members of the management and operating committee, the board and regulators as required. Specific Responsibilities: Work strategically with business and functional insights and reporting partners to manage timely and consistent collection of high quality data from the various areas within the company and identified source systems Provide ongoing broad, enterprise-wide analysis and insights of risk from front line activities throughout Corporate Risk, using topic modeling and advanced analytics capabilities to identify emerging trends for front line risk related issues and transforming data into information and strategy insights Lead the strategic analysis, consolidation, summary and presentation of results to deliver meaningful insights and actionable information to key business leaders across the company to help drive decisions and change across the enterprise Lead the development and execution of processes to manage timely and effective delivery of required reports, and identifying solutions to support Corporate Risk front line reporting, analysis and insights needs, including collaboration with stakeholders within Corporate Risk and across the company Provide leadership, risk expertise, and issue resolution guidance for enterprise-wide projects and initiatives, including regulatory commitments Provide leadership and support to the development of the strategy and long-term goals for strengthening risk management across the Corporate Risk organization Inspire, develop and lead a diverse and skilled analytics team to provide data-driven strategic insights, standards, and procedures to the Corporate Risk's Control Executive and the Governance & Programs leader The Candidate This role requires business engagement to drive and effect change. This position will partner with both internal and external stakeholders, including senior management from all three lines of defense, as well as relevant regulatory agencies, as applicable. Required Qualifications 10+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both; or 10+ years of IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience, of which 6+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both 7+ years of management experience Desired Qualifications Ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear manner Advanced Microsoft Office skills Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy Other Desired Qualifications Develop reporting templates and formats, with polished narrative analysis, for delivery of information to multiple levels of senior management. Meaningful knowledge across enterprise risk management framework, including: risk identification, risk appetite and strategy, risk-related decisions, processes and controls, risk analytics and governance Understanding of best-practice risk management techniques across financial services industry Knowledge of relevant financial regulations and understanding of how they are implemented, managed and enforced Deep technical understanding of specific business operations, processes, products, and customer interactions and where they manifest risk Strong interpersonal, influencing, and communications skills with an ability to interact effectively with stakeholders and regulators, to include virtual, matrixed leadership experience and the ability to effectively manage and build relationships within the business and enterprise Risk function Proven leadership and project management skills to drive alignment across stakeholder groups to develop and deliver repeatable end to end risk management solutions and controls aligned with business/customer processes Deep understanding of risk framework, corporate/business policies, and programs to translate into plans for the business, function and/or risk type Demonstrated leadership ability that embodies the Wells Fargo Vision and Values and leadership competencies Ethical integrity and demonstrated ability to assess and determine when to raise concerns and escalate Proven ability to build and lead high performing control risk management organization in a matrixed environment, ensure proper staffing and expertise exists and can coach and enable others in risk management and risk ownership Strong analytical ability used to identify risks and confidently raise issues, escalate early and engage in constructive credible challenge and will do so independently when necessary Proven ability to proactively manage and resolve conflict and effectively defend decisions with objective rationale At Wells Fargo, we want to satisfy our customers' financial needs and help them succeed financially.
