Supports the National Science Foundation managed United States Antarctic Program as part of the Antarctic Support Contract (ASC). Electricians will perform electrical maintenance or construction work, or any combination thereof, under the supervision of the Electrician Foreman or PM Coordinator. Cert. Animal Handler-Night Shift- Duplin Marketing Tar Heel
Certified Animal Handler (CAH) reports directly to station management and is required to follow the guidance of management. CAH has TQA and PQA Plus certification. The employee in this position will handle animals in a calm manner, and abide by Duplin’s Animal Care Policy. This position will perform all the station duties as needed by management. Below are the normal operating procedures of the Duplin Marketing CAH, in turn identifying the responsibilities of this position.   ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Sort and load animals in a productive, SAFE and efficient manner. Use herding board to move animals from pen to aisle. Count animals onto truck. Shipping of Animals (loading process) Preload trailer inspection is performed by the CAH prior to loading any animals. Animals are loaded according to the load sheet received from the weigh master. CAH (Loader) counts animals as he/she is loading them. CAH will compare his count, the driver’s count and the load sheet confirming all three matches before signing the load sheet. Post Load Inspection: Driver must drain before pulling onto the highway. 2. Receiving of animals (unloading process)  Driver gives receiving documentation to the CAH for inspection and to record. Animals are unloaded by the driver to the CAH, so CAH can confirm head count. CAH places back tags on the shoulder area of the sow; and tattoo pigs in the same area, for identification purpose. Animals are penned according to farm and pen capacity. Receiving documentation is given to the Weigh master to record into daily inventory. 3. Grading Animals Animals are sorted/graded according to Duplin/Customer specifications by the CAH. 4. CAH will receive documented training on the following: EIPMS (Employee Injury Prevention Management System), EMS (Environmental Management System), and Animal Welfare/Care from management. Active participation is also recommended in all meetings; be involved, ask questions. 5. House Keeping: Locker room, Inside/outside barn. Everyone’s responsibility. This is the place you spend the majority of the day, take ownership. Maintain good customer and driver relations & present good company image. Responsible for being in compliance with all environmental laws and procedures to which Smithfield subscribes. Incumbent will be responsible for understanding and complying with company EMS policies and procedures in the performance of their job duties. Report all environmental issues immediately to their supervisor. Read and understand the company’s emergency notification process and will be responsible for reviewing that policy at their work site. Follow an active safety awareness program including immediately reporting Smithfield safety violations and on the job injuries. Complies with Smithfield policies. Assist in training other loading employees as required. Performs duties as defined by manager.
